Any healthy system needs a way to correct error and remove waste. Nature has extinction, the economy has loss, bankruptcy, liquidation. Interfering in this process lengthens feedback loops. Error and waste are allowed to accumulate, and you ultimately get a massive collapse.

Great quote. Makes me think whether by over-advancing health care and medical technology, are we humans interfering with the natural law of “only the strongest survive”? When should treatment begins and where should it ends? By prolonging lives at all costs, are we increasing the pace of resource depletion and bringing forward the extinction of mankind?
